Slovakia – Cellulosic ethanol production to start next year

Energochemica has said trial operations at its cellulosic ethanol project will begin by the end of 2018. The project will have an annual production capacity of around 70 mln litres and will process each year up to 300,000 tonnes of forest and agricultural residues, including straw.

The Slovakian government has set a target for a 0.1% market share for advanced biofuels from 2019, rising to 0.5% from 2020 and 0.75% from 2025.
